In the heart of Lugano, overlooking the historic Piazza della Riforma just steps from the lake, Ristorante Federale 1855 has come back to life after a major restoration. Cacao Design led the restaurant’s branding — from the logo to every element of its visual identity — reshaping the identity of one of the city’s historic culinary destinations, now renewed in its locally inspired cuisine and hospitality.
The project is part of a broader initiative: Cacao Design redesigned the entire Brand Ecosystem architecture for Gruppo Marmant, including the new image of the Michelin-starred Meta Restaurant.
The new logo is built around a horizon line, a direct reference to the lake that gives the venue its name and character, and in which the culture and tradition of this historic address are reflected. The entire visual identity is grounded in a clean, Swiss-inflected design language, with an attention to detail that runs through every brand touchpoint.
